hey folks, need some advice. installed doom 3 on my comp, and i keep getting opengl error........ then crash to desktop. i've updated graphics driver and all, but it just won't have any of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/wallbash.gif) specs : amd 7750 (dual core) 4gig ram shit loads of hdd space ATI HD 3850 (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/sofa.gif) c-media sound any ideas will gratefully be accepted as i'm always moe than willing to format if wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/lol.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/lol.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/lol.gif) |

good luck i herd opengl buggy on ati try a other driver like 9.3 or even older or update opengl drivers from opengl
run dxdiag from start/run click on display cheak dx features r all enable might be a m/b drivers not installed right or somthing other than that try google or somthing |

try to update sound card drivers it may be worth switching off saound card in system settings first and trying that had the same prob with an older ati card and it was a sound card fault that made it crash but it showed a graphics error code when it did it turning of soound card worked then updated after that

tried all that, didn't work, so i guess for the time being, i'll have to stick to the games i've been playing, and leave it to the side until i get a better ( and open gl compatable ) card.

if you m/b is via make sure it got all drivers thirs one like via to agp or cpu to agp that should show up in device manger but if it not via nvm. it will be a driver i would think
unless the ati really r crap with it but even that would of most likey been driver support one of my cards had i simller erorr i just run a opengl install file from a disc or off the net i think and it was fine after that |

got it sorted now............
had to install the gart drivers on the mobo, now i have opengl too (IMG:style_emoticons/dark/D.gif) thanks for the help folks |

UPDATE
bit more news ......... i'll be kinda on and off for a few days...... got a new mobo and graphics card, but i gotta get the bios flashed to recognise my cpu. should only take a day or so till i'm back on, but will be adding my games too so will be back shortly........ found out that the mobo was faulty so gunna have to wait till friday for replacement |
